The Windmills Plantation on Salt Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands

We have no discos or duty free shopping on Salt Cay, nor cruise ships, crowded beaches, jet skis or water skiing. All we have to offer is sand, sun and serenity for those who need time to recover from the daily care, chaos and stress of life and seek the stimulation of nature still unspoiled.

There is still much to do for those who want more activity than reading a good book in the hammock. You may wish to snorkel the 2 miles of reef right off the beach or dive with Salt Cay Divers on unspoiled reefs and 18 miles away is the "Endymion" an 18th century shipwreck identified by Rodell's as one of the top 10 wreck dives in the world. Whale watch in hopes of spotting a Humpback Whale and her calf at play as they migrate through these waters in late Winter or early Spring.

Fish for a few hours with a local fisherman and eat your catch of the day that night. Or bonefish in the mangroves. Picnic on another deserted beach or cay. Shell, collect beachglass or sit by the saltwater pool. Walk one of the many nature trails and explore the mangroves in search of native and migratory birds that have been identified on Salt Cay. Or play ping pong, darts, dominoes or other games in the game room. Or try the Total Gym&or just walk the lonely beach and fall in love all over again. It is a "Lovers Island that time forgot"!
